School Counseling![]() Professional counseling services are offered to area schools. The Director of Clinical Services and School Counseling Coordinator meet with each school to determine the area of need. Counselors may work with classroom management, individual students, teachers, parents or school administrator. Individual, family and group counseling as well as group presentations are utilized to bring about the desired result. Children may be referred for individual counseling by a parent, a teacher, administrator or they may seek the counselor out themselves. Many schools are requesting violence and suicide prevention programs and individual counseling for children with behavior or emotional problems. We also offer crisis intervention when there is a death or loss related to students, faculty or community. Success in the schools we serve has come in the form of a reduction of outbursts in classroom behavior, fewer referrals to the principal, fewer incidences of school absence and an increase in student satisfaction. Service is provided to the schools on a sliding fee scale. Fees are subsidized by Catholic Social Services.
