2008 Christian Service Award Winners

Congratulations are in order for our three 2008 Christian Service Award winners


Jeanne Edgar
Jeanne has worked tirelessly at Queen of Peace as a member of the Mother's Club, Ladies Sodality, fish fry events, Cosgrove's Kitchen, etc... She has also worked with Pastor Drew Kramer (St. Paul United Church of Christ) on the "House Build" and with the Community Interfaith Food Pantry.

Jerry Messick
Jerry has been very active in the programs and services at St. Paul United church of Christ. In 2005 he began work to bring various churches together in a combined food pantry effort to serve Belleville's hungry families. His tireless efforts resulted in the Community Interfaith Food Pantry which began operation in August 2007.

Glenn Schott
Glenn has been an inspirational leader as the Athletic Director at Althoff Catholic High School. He has spent his entire life working with boy's and girls helping them to become responsible Christian men and women. He has coached football teams to three championships, plus many other playoff appearances.



The awards will be presented in a formal ceremony at the Catholic Social Services' benefit dinner event on Friday, May 2, 2008, at Albert's Banquet Center in Belleville. Anyone interested in attending this event should call Catholic Social Services at (618) 394-5900 to make dinner reservations. Christian Service Award Guidelines
The recipients of the Christian Service Awards were nominated by members of the community. Nominations were considered regardless of religious affiliation. The awards are given to these three outstanding individuals because their services to the community reflect the mission and spirit of Catholic Social Services.
